Project Update – 11/19/17

Work continued removing Mill Pond dam and motivate its impounded sediments downstream.

The log crib dam removed to allow free passage of the creek, with secure portions remain within the banks to either side (Photo 1 & 2). The delta floodplain was graded by machine, and channels were dug to speed and direct the water to better erode the impounded sediments (Photo 3, 4 & 5). Was released from Sullivan lake in significant quantity, flushing sediment from the delta and pond bottom into Sullivan Creek and downstream (Photo 6).
